Cleveland City Council passed a resolution directing city departments to refer to local Lake Erie waters as the "Gulf of Cleveland" on municipal maps. The measure was introduced as a response to a federal executive order regarding Lake Ontario and applies strictly to internal city documents. Similar water-renaming proposals have previously been introduced in Mississippi, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law is moving into the historic Huntington building in downtown Columbus, set to open in fall 2029.
