The U.S. Senate confirmed Michael Hendershot to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in a 50 to 44 party-line vote. Appointed by President Donald Trump to fill a seat vacated by Judge Patricia Gaughan, the former Ohio Attorney General veteran becomes the first judge confirmed to this court in Trump's second term.

The Cuyahoga County Justice Center reopened today after a ruptured water line caused flooding and power outages that closed the facility to the public on Tuesday, June 23. Ohio lawmakers have passed House Bill 472, which requires voters to include a copy of a photo ID with mail-in ballots starting ahead of the November 2027 election, while also creating an online absentee request portal and directing public libraries to offer free ID photocopying.
