Ohio Attorneys Face Discipline Over AI Hallucinations

The Ohio Disciplinary Counsel filed a complaint against a Cleveland-area attorney after his staff used AI tools that hallucinated false statements. This follows a recent Board of Professional Conduct recommendation to indefinitely suspend another Northeast Ohio lawyer for submitting fictitious case citations generated by AI. Read more on NBC4 .

Lawyers = Justice Initiative

The University of Toledo College of Law and Ohio Northern University have partnered with the Ohio State Bar Association and Foundation to launch "Lawyers = Justice." Designed to combat the shortage of attorneys in rural Northwest Ohio, this initiative will operate out of Bowling Green and Lima using a hybrid fellowship-clinic model. It will offer hands-on experience for up to 40 law students while supporting four new lawyer fellows as they establish local private practices. Read more about the collaboration at  Spectrum News .

Ohio's Pro Bono Report - 2025

 In 2025, Ohio attorneys donated 112,000 pro bono hours valued at over $28 million, marking a substantial increase from 2024. America 250: Declaration of Independence Reading

As a continuation of America's 250 celebrations, Cuyahoga County officials are gathering at Cleveland's Public Square this Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event will take place at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, and local residents are encouraged to attend.

Senate Confirms Hendershot to Federal Bench in Ohio

The U.S. Senate confirmed Michael Hendershot to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in a 50 to 44 party-line vote. Appointed by President Donald Trump to fill a seat vacated by Judge Patricia Gaughan, the former Ohio Attorney General veteran becomes the first judge confirmed to this court in Trump's second term.

Cuyahoga County Justice Center Reopens

The Cuyahoga County Justice Center reopened today after a ruptured water line caused flooding and power outages that closed the facility to the public on Tuesday, June 23. While normal operations and jail visitations have resumed, jury trials remain temporarily paused as county staff assess the damage and complete repairs. Visit  Cleveland.com  for additional details.
